EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu as been reportedly suspended by President Buhari.

President Buhari has reportedly suspended Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ,.

According to reports, 

Magu was suspended by president buhari to allow him face the probe allegations of corruption issued against him by the Abubakar Malami, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation.

Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation wrote a letter to President Buhari asking him to sack Magu’s.

Magu was accused of corruption, diversion of recovered funds, insubordination among other offenses.

On Monday, Magu was invited before a panel probing the allegations. Retired president of the appeal court Ayo Salami led this panel .

Some of the allegations Magu is being investigated for include:

  1. Alleged favouring of some investigators called Magu’s Boys
  2. Alleged discrepancies in the reconciliation records of the EFCC and the Federal Ministry of Finance on recovered funds
  3. Alleged sales of seized assets to cronies, associates and friends
  4. Insubordination to the office of the AGF by not seeking his approval on some decisions
  5. Not providing enough evidence for the extradition of ex-Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke
  6. Alleged late action on the investigation of Process and Industrial Development (P&ID) leading to legal dispute
  7. Not respecting court order to unfreeze a N7billion judgment in favour of a former Executive Director of First Bank
  8. Alleged delay in acting on two vessels seized by Nigerian Navy leading to the loss of crude
  9. Declaration of N539billion as recovered funds instead of N504b earlier claimed
  10. Reporting some judges to their presiding officers without deferring to the AGF
  11. Alleged issuance of investigative activities to some media prejudicial to some cases.
